GOT MILLIONS, MILLIONS, MILLIONS

Different Types of K-Pop fans we all have encountered

With the spread of K-Pop around the world we get to see a variety of K-Pop fans. Lets start by understanding what a fan exactly means. A fan or fanatic is a person who is enthusiastically devoted to someone or something. It can be anything from sports to music to books etc. Collectively these fans form a fandom or fanbase. When someone supports a group/solo to a greater extent; they are stans. To show their enthusiasm they may have a fan club or hold a convention. Heres a list of all the different types of K-Pop fans I've meet till date
***************************

The Newbie
This person is the baby of the K-Pop stan world. They've just got into K-Pop and are aware of mostly the current groups and trending songs. Newbies mostly just watch music videos and don't listen to the complete album. They are confused most of the time because they don't have a clue about fan-chants, comebacks, mini-albums, repackage albums and sub-units. They are still trying to learn about K-Pop stan culture.

Grandma/ Mama Fans
These fans have either been stanning the group for a very long time or consider the members as their children. In the first context, these fans know every tiny detail about the group. From the hair colour of all the members during different eras to inside jokes they know them all. They are always ready to impart knowledge to newbies. In the second context, these fans take care for all the members as their own children even though most of the members may be older than them. These fans get happy when they know that the members are eating, sleeping and taking rest properly.

The Passionate One Band/Group Stan
These types of fans stan and support only one group. Most of the time they think their group/band is superior than others, but keep in mind not all of them are like this. There are some people who stan only one group because the group/band's music style suits them and they haven't been able to find another group/band equivalent to the previous group.

The Family Guy
Supports every group in one agency. Is loyal to one entire Agency. Be it a group or a solo artist; a boy group or a girl group; a band or a dance group, this fan supports every group that comes from that one company. For example: People who call themselves JYP Fam, stan almost everyone from JYP Entertainment; be it TWICE, DAY6, JIMIN, ITZY, GOT7 OR STRAY KIDS!

The #OT Fan
One thing we hear often in K-Pop is #OT *insert number of members of the group*. OT stands for One True. It means that the fan loves and appreciates all the members equally. They may have a bias but they don't consider their bias superior to the other members. These fans also support the solo activities of all the members of the group. It's either stan the whole group or get out for them.

The Monogamous
Loves one member of the group to such and extent that they literally disregard the effort and the talent of all the other members of the group. These type of fans think that the member they love is literally the only one carrying the group forward and without him/her the group would have disbanded. They support the solo activities of only their fav and not of all the members of the group.

Multifandom Fellows

They stan various groups and are generally open to different genres of music. Always busy and broke. These fans try to love every member in every group they stan and are passionate about every group they stan. Make a timetable of all the comeback dates as if its their exam timetable, so that they don't miss out on any comeback. K-Pop deprives them of sleep and they're okay with it :')

You're My One and Only Fan
Not exactly a Sasaeng, but these fans are quite obsessive about the group members/member/ or solo artist. They can't share their bias and for them if their oppar/unnie date it's an utter sin. They might even unstan if they find out that their oppar/unnie are dating. For them the idol belongs to the fans and no one else.

The Picasso Fans
Guides, Edits, Crack videos, Fanarts, meme content; name it. These fans are highly creative and they use their free time showing this creativity. They either draw, write fanfics or make edits and most of them have either a Twitter or Instagram fan-page. Some of them also may have a YouTube channel with guides, lyrics to songs, choreography tutorials and theories.

The Warrior

These fans easily get triggered and engage in fan-wars against the fans of groups they don't stan. They may even go against some members of the groups they stan. For them stan Twitter is their battleground and everything is fair in love and war. Spend most of their time trying to justify their actions. Very delusional, thinks idols are perfect and forgets idols are humans too.

The Bandwagon Effect
The bandwagon effect is a psychological phenomenon in which people do something primarily because other people are doing it, regardless of their own beliefs, which they may ignore or override. These fans listen to K-Pop because its what most people are doing. They may or may not be interested in it but are listening to it to fit in.

The High-Key Fan
Listens to the whole album on repeat and makes sure everyone around them knows the lyrics to the songs along with the fan-chant (jk dw :p). Most of the time these people have the albums and the official merchandise of the groups they stan. Sometimes they are so enthusiastic that they even learn the choreography of the songs or the entire song with all the correct lyrics šŸ˜Š

Low-Key Fan
Listens to some songs here and their but isn't a huge fan. They may not be interested in K-Pop but they also do not hate on it or disregard it as a music genre.

Koreaboos
They want to think they are Korean. These fans will only know several Korean words and implements those words in an English sentence that is cringey and doesn’t make any sense. They try to live like Koreans without trying to understand the Korean culture. Mostly do it due to the influence of K-Pop and K-Dramas.

Sasaengs
They don't understand the meaning of privacy.Their whole world centers around their idols. They will fly or move to the location where their idol is (or will want to be around them constantly). They will stalk, attack, send nasty and ridiculous gifts to their idol. Will try and hack into their idols stuff, may attempt to kidnap their idol. Very disgusting and unhealthy behavior. An extremist.

The Mean Chicks

Very defensive. They bash other groups, may bully other fans and are over all very toxic. Usually may like only one group or member and puts the others down. Close-minded and always start fan-wars.

The 1004
These people are super calm and un-problematic. They try to solve inter and intra group problems in a mature manner, without attacking anyone and trying to talk out the issue. They are always ready to help and do not bother engaging in fan-wars. Heads up they might be sarcastic sometimes but in a fun way.

There is like an unsaid family system -
Korean fans - The eldest child. Responsible and takes proper care of the parents
Japanese fans - The maknae. Spoiled with love and loves to show it off :p
International Fans - The middle kid. Barely gets any attention but always loves and cares
